"The West's Best B&Bs: Wake up to a great breakfast!"
"An elegant and luxurious B&B!" -- Sarah Shuckburgh
London Telegraph, UK / May 2006

"The Joshua Grindle Inn...is different from so many other bed and breakfasts in the whitewashed North Coast town. Maybe it's the water tower. Or the extra attention to detail. Or simply the New England elegance that graces the property..."

-- Sacramento Magazine
"...all ten rooms...feature the same charm and attention to detail that is a signature of owners Cindy and Charles Reinhart and Manager Christine Wagner."

-- Orange Coast Magazine
A nostalgic gingerbread-trimmed front porch bids welcome to the mellow, antique-furnished homestead which harbors ten comfy guest rooms in an 1879 Victorian house and two outbuildings."

-- Andrew Harper's Hideaway Report
"...breakfast (sic) at the Joshua Grindle Inn, this isn't a mere homespun meal. It's an experience."

-- Margaret Deefholts, "Mellow Mendocino"
"There are many spectacular B&Bs in Mendocino. I chose the JG on the internet, based on location, price, breakfast, availability and presence in all of the "Best Of" books that I could find. It was a brilliant choice. Over the years we have been to some of the finest B&Bs imaginable, and we have seen some that were not so fine. The JG is right up there with the best. Every detail is anticipated (they give you a flashlight for your evening strolls!). The details and UPKEEP were amazing. Both Cindy and Charles obviously tried very hard to make each guest feel as if they were a special and valued friend. They memorized everybody's names, and created a feeling of familiarity amongst the guests during breakfasts. The breakfasts were crafted beautifully. While there was a seemingly endless supply, the food was not "heaping". Quiches, homemade muffins, juices, good coffee, and attentive service were the order of the day. Kudos Charles and Cindy!"

"The massage by Glenna was the perfect way to begin my vacation. She has amazing hands and found all of my trouble spots. It was the best massage I've ever had! Consider her massage not a luxury, but a necessity - don't miss it!".

-- Victoria Diaz Hamilton, NJ
"The Watertower II room is so warm and cuddly. The wood stove adds just the right touch. We hope to be back on a regular basis! Give our regards to the owners, the 'cats'."

-- Beth and Monte Mcintyre, Point Reyes Cheese

"Wanted to thank you all for a wonderful stay last weekend. You must be doing something right, because returning to reality was quite a shock! I was going to email you for your Mandarin Almond French Toast recipe, then found it on your website! What you are doing is really impressive - - subtly enhancing an aesthetically enjoyable experience with high technology, without affecting the ambiance. It is a true artform, and you have mastered it! Thanks again."

-- Susan and Glenn, Pleasanton
"Thanks for making our visit to Mendocino so memorable! Joshua Grindle was certainly all it pertains to be on the web site and we were very comfortable. Yours was our first stop on our tour of northern California and it was a hard act to follow for the other B&B's."

"Charles and Cindy . . . made us feel extremely comfortable and welcome from the moment we checked in. The location is perfect, only a few blocks from the ocean. And there's nothing more romantic than sipping sherry by the fire on a chilly Northern California night. This was, truly, the FINEST bed & breakfast experience we've ever had. We'd recommend it in a heartbeat."

-- Kerry & Dan, New York City from Out and About Magazine
"The things that captivate me most about the Joshua Grindle Inn are the fresh, clean smells in the guest rooms, the books and the comfortable chairs, the breezy vista toward Mendocino and the ocean, and the wonderful gardens. They're a joy to see growing, seemingly so wild and casual (I know that's not the case), on this beautiful site. Even with the crowds that flock to Mendocino during summer tourist time, the atmosphere here is tranquil and rural."
