Meet Basil* "I'd like to let you in on a little secret, just between you guests and the cat. Charles and Cindy may think they are the owners of the Inn, but we're really the ones running this place. I'm Basil, the full-figured Siamese / Tabby with the steely-blue eyes. You could say I'm the Boss... when you peek into the office at night and see me "sleeping" on the desk, don't let my lazy appearance fool you. I'm actually in there processing confirmations, making dinner reservations, and paying the bills! What then, you may ask, are all of the innkeepers for? Why, to pet me and feed me and most importantly - to open the doors to let me in and out as I please!......."
There once were two of us - Sybil was the original matriarchal cat here at the inn (btw- don't let my name fool you. I'm very much a lady cat!). Sybil was lionized for many years by the patrons of the JGI. Since leaving the inn, I bear the mantle of kittenish authority and the important job of guaranteeing a persistent feline presence at the Joshua Grindle. |
*Basil was named after the bumbling innkeeper on the British comedy TV show "Fawlty Towers"!

Lenny is our "Joint Custody" Pooch who splits his time between the Inn and the Jacobson's home.
|

Little Zoe is our "Indoors" Kitty.

The cats continue to outnumber the dogs at the Joshua Grindle Inn.
The newest feline "No-Show" arrived in February 2009 from unknown origins. He's a sweet boy and the newest star of the crew. At least Lenny won't be the only boy any longer.
